Inverclyde Social Enterprise & Volunteering Showcase – Wednesday 30th October 2024 at The Beacon Arts Centre 9.30 am-3.30 pm. Managed by CVS Inverclyde, funded by UK Government Funds via Inverclyde Council.
The Inverclyde Social Enterprise & Volunteering Showcase is an opportunity for the third sector to learn, celebrate and connect with individuals and organisations to promote the economic, social, and environmental impact that social enterprises provide and to promote and celebrate volunteering across Inverclyde.
The event will be a one-stop shop for people interested in becoming a social entrepreneur or learning more about growing their social enterprise further. Help will be available from key partners, experts in social enterprise development and growth, funding, and transitioning to Net Zero.
Our keynote speakers will welcome and inspire you for a day full of learning, connection, promotion and celebration of social enterprise and volunteering. The event will start with a warm welcome from Charlene Elliott, CEO at CVS Inverclyde. The opening address will also include Louise Long, CEO Inverclyde Council, Lisa Wardlaw, Head of the Skills Academy at Kibble (a leading social enterprise that supports at risk children and young people aged 5-26) and Margaret Starkie Partnership and Communications Manager at Volunteer Scotland.
The Social Enterprise Trade Fair will showcase the variety of social enterprises already operating In Inverclyde, key partners, and support agencies. This will facilitate networking, marketing, and business development opportunities.
The Fair will be complemented by a series of engaging workshops and interactive learning opportunities with social enterprises sharing their knowledge and experience to support the sector to grow economically and sustainably.
Meet the experts on a 1-to-1 basis in 5 minute speed sessions to discuss idea development, funding and finance, governance, community asset training, volunteering, and mentoring.
After lunch, an inspiring workshop with input from Volunteer Scotland, Scottish Schools’ Football Association, and local volunteers from across various sectors (including environment, the arts, media, justice, and sport) will help you learn more about how to engage volunteers and sustain their engagement. Concluding with a relaxed and interactive Q&A session, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with speakers and learn more.
Join us for Greenock’s inaugural fashion day! The Inverclyde Runway Revolution, our sustainable fashion show will showcase the Autumn/Winter Fashion ‘Compassion Collection’ from local charity shops.
Clyde Coast Radio will broadcast live from the event providing ongoing entertainment and compere the Inverclyde Runway Revolution.
