Between Monday 26 February and Friday 1 March, charities and voluntary groups in Inverclyde are invited to share their views on Inverclyde’s Community Justice Outcomes Improvement Plan (CJOIP) and represent the role and impact of the third sector in community justice.
The week features themed days around different ways third sector organisations are involved in community justice.
- Monday 26 Feb – launch event. Find out more about the role and impact of the third sector on community justice in Inverclyde. Learn about the five aims of Inverclyde’s Community Justice Partnership and how you can contribute.
- Wednesday 28 February – learn about the role the third sector plays in supporting survivors and victims of crime.
- Friday 1 March – unpaid work. Hear from folk who have participated in work experience placements with local charities and voluntary groups and the benefits for individuals and organisations.
Third sector staff can also sign up to take part in online engagement sessions to share their views on different aspects of the Community Justice Outcome Improvement Plan – this is a significant opportunity to represent the sector.
Charities and voluntary groups in Inverclyde have an important role to play in community justice, reducing reoffending and supporting people back into communities.
Volunteering and unpaid work opportunities are one important aspect and many local organisations have benefitted from the skills and experience of those in the justice system.
Furthermore, charities have a crucial role to play in supporting survivors and victims of crime to access support and navigate the justice system.
