Multiply is an important new programme that aims to transform the lives of adults across the UK, by improving their numeracy skills. By delivering free personal tutoring, digital training and flexible, easy to access courses, we want to boost people’s ability to use maths in their daily lives and at work and to enable them to achieve formal qualifications and progress towards their own personal goals.
Many people are not confident with numbers. Some may have missed out on crucial early learning or have dealt with life challenges or inequalities that have negatively impacted their skill development. From being able to budget, to navigating transport timetables, supporting kids with homework, and passing job selection tests, being confident with numbers feeds into so many areas of day-to-day life. Good foundations in numeracy support people to positively participate in society, family life, and to achieve their own aspirations.
Multiply aims to address these issues, so if you would like to improve your skills and confidence using numbers, our programme aims to foster great relationships and learning in a supportive fun and practical way.
We are also seeking volunteers, so if you are confident with your own numeracy skills, can adapt to working with people with a cultural or social background that’s different to your own; if you’re a good listener; if you’re patient and calm; and if you can relate well to people – this could be a great fit for you, and we’d love you to connect with this programme.
