As part of the Firestarter Festival (firestarterfestival.com), the Scottish Health Council Greater Glasgow and Clyde is delivering a Voices Scotland Showcases in Glasgow, Thursday 1 February 10am to 12.30pm at the Kelvin Hall (Glasgow Life).
Voices Scotland is a free and flexible workshop that supports people, groups and communities to explore issues that are important to them. It provides communities with the knowledge, skills and confidence to have their voices heard in the shaping of local and national health and social care services.
The Scottish Health Council, as a key partner of the Our Voice programme, delivers these workshops across Scotland with members of the public, community groups and staff working across health and social care. Voices Scotland was first developed and delivered by Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland.
These showcase sessions will provide participants with an interactive overview of what can be delivered in partnership, with the aim of building the confidence and skills of staff and members of the public so they can work well together.
It will explore storytelling techniques; how personal experience can shape service improvement; the benefits of and barriers to getting involved; and gain an understanding of health and social care structures.
The sessions are open to anyone with an interest in community engagement.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
