We had an incredible day at our Social Enterprise and Volunteering Showcase on Wednesday 30 October.
The workshops, presentations and activities all spotlighted the diversity and impact social enterprise and volunteers make to Inverclyde communities.
It was an opportunity to learn and network – it was great to see so many new connections being made.
Clyde Coast Radio kept us entertained and it was exciting to launch the Scottish Schools FA Poetry competition.
We want to extend a huge thank you to our keynote speakers, workshop facilitators and all attendees for making the day a huge success.
Lisa Wardlaw, Louise Long, Margaret Starkie, and Charlene Elliott delivered powerful speeches about the success and contribution of volunteering and social enterprise in Inverclyde, bringing their own personal experiences and expertise.
Media students from West College Scotland were filming and photographing and we look forward to sharing more highlights from the day very soon.
The Runway Revolution fashion show displayed the best selections from local charity shops and how you can look amazing with ethical, pre-loved fashion and it benefits the environment. Thank you to Green Tangerine for your support running the fashion show; and thank you to our incredible models.
One highlight from the day was the Volunteering workshop where we heard from local volunteers about their experiences and contribution. Alison Bunce from Compassionate Inverclyde awarded all the volunteers with Inverclyde Kindness Awards to celebrate their achievements.
Thank you of course to the Beacon Arts Centre for hosting us and the support from all staff.
