Free Autism Workshop - Half Day Training
|Friday 28 February 2020, 09:30am - 04:30pm |
Friday 28 February - Inverclyde Community Hub
As part of the wider launch campaign for the new NES online training resource "Autism Across the Lifespan: Because Life Happens!", Autism Network Scotland (ANS) is delivering regional training workshops.
The new eLearning module will be available to health and social care staff across the country, however, ANS is keen to spread the resource as widely as possible and to encourage any practitioners - including those in the third sector - who support people with autism at points of transition to attend training.
The interactive workshop will explore what sort of life events can be considered a transition. Participants will work through scenarios designed to highlight challenges and the strategies that can be used to help people become more resilient during transition. They will also have the opportunity to reflect on how the wider health and social care environment and community plays a part in this support.
You should consider attending the training if:
- You support people with autism of any age
- You support people with autism during times of transition or change - remember, even relatively simple or routine changes can sometimes need extra support
- You work in or with the HSCP to provide support for people with autism
To ensure we can make this training available to as many people as possible, we're looking to choose the best time of day to run the workshop - either morning from 9.30am to 12.30pm, or afternoon from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. If you would like to attend the training, please complete the short survey by clicking this link, indicating the time slot/s that would be most suitable for you. If there is sufficient interest, an additional workshop might be arranged.
If you're unable to access the survey, please contact John Chapman at CVS Inverclyde - details below.
