Our Place Our Future Greenock East & Central Cafe Conversations
Monday 26 March - conversations start 1pm and 3pm over a nice cuppa and treats!
Broomhill Garden & Community Hub, 46 Mearns Street, Greenock PA15 4QD
Our Place Our Future is calling on people who live and work in Greenock East and Central to join its next free community event, Café Conversations, this Monday 26 March at the Broomhill Community Hub.
This is your opportunity to provide views that could help shape your community's future, around cosy café tables where people can enjoy a more informal conversation with a small group of others over a hot cuppa and some tasty treats!
Two individual Our Place Our Future Café Conversation sessions will kick off from 1pm and 3pm with the second concluding at 5pm, although feel free to drop in at any time that suits you. A free crèche can be booked in advance with Enterprise Childcare on 01475 745552 and free transport is also available by calling CVS Inverclyde on tel: 01475 711733 - book by Friday 21 March at noon please.
Funding of £30,682 from the European Social Fund has allowed the team to engage with local residents, community groups and businesses over the past few months. Conversations have considered how ideas can be turned into action, to create a stronger, fairer and healthier community in the future.
Emerging topics have included poverty, loneliness, health, intergenerational activities, depopulation and employment, with people from all walks of life and different generations contributing their views, looking at solutions to local issues and considering how they might become involved, such as by volunteering their time and skills.
While the team look forward to welcoming people to the event on Monday, people can also continue to contribute via Facebook group chats and Twitter pages until the process concludes at the end of this month.
The Our Place Our Future – Greenock East and Central target area covers Gibshill, Strone, Weir Street, Cartsdyke, Bridgend, Greenock Town Centre, Wellpark, Drumfrochar, Broomhill and Prospecthill.
