Digital Funding for Young People leaving care available from Youth Link Scotland

Connecting Scotland is a Scottish Government programme set up in response to coronavirus and is delivered in partnership with local councils and SCVO

Phase 2 of the Connecting Scotland programme supports low income households without proper internet access to get online and develop key digital skills with the assistance of £15 million of Scottish Government funding.

It will target disadvantaged families with children and young people leaving care up to the age of 26. These families will receive an iPad or Chromebook device, 12 months of unlimited internet data, and technical support to get online safely and securely.

Households will also be linked with a digital champion who will provide six months of training and support over the phone. Suitable recipients will be identified by local authorities and public or third sector organisations who apply to the programme on behalf of those they support

The first round of applications for this phase are open until 5 October 2020.
