The STV Children's Appeal is sponsoring a Pride of Scotland award for a Child or Teenager of Courage.

STV is set to air the first ever Daily Record Pride of Scotland Awards, in partnership with TSB, later this year

In this inspiring landmark TV event, the awards – which celebrate ordinary people doing extraordinary things - will honour unsung heroes who've transformed the lives of people around them.

STV Studios will produce the 90-minute programme which will see famous faces from the worlds of showbiz, sport and politics celebrate the bravest, most remarkable people from every corner of Scotland. Nominated by the public, the inspirational award winners will come from all age groups, and all walks of life.

Nominations are now open at prideofscotland.org for the following categories and will close this Friday 2 October at 5pm:

• STV Children's Appeal Child/Teenager of Courage Award
• TSB Community Hero
• Young Fundraiser of the Year
• Outstanding Bravery
• Special Recognition
• Emergency Services Award
• Lifetime Achievement
