Our Inverclyde Community Link Worker (CLW) Team has been enjoying getting back to GP practices again while also meeting with patients outside, in their gardens and in the community at safe venues.
The team said "It's been great to meet up with people again whenever possible. We continue to take referrals for non-medical issues which affect patient wellbeing and support people to link with community based resources and support. Many patients have been benefiting from 'Walk and Talks' which has enabled them to get out of their homes again and take advantage of some of the fabulous walks and scenery we have here in Inverclyde. The great weather we've been enjoying has really supported this.
One of our CLW Team has been supporting the pilot of the new Port Glasgow Health Walk run by The Bothy which has been a great success and a further 3 Link Workers have already been trained as Walk Leaders.
Since coming into post at the end of May 2021, our Lead Community Link Worker, Elaine Cannon, has been meeting with key partners as well as supporting her own allocated GP practice. She has, of course, also been spending time getting to know the CLW Team as well as the wider CVSI Team and learning about the wealth of different experience we have here at our disposal.
Our CLWs have been spending some time looking at developments within our own service as well as constantly engaging with new services/resources available within our communities so that we can give patients the best range of options possible to suit their needs."
