Inverclyde Community Development Trust are recruiting a Befriending Outreach Worker.
This exciting new role exists to help the befriending project better engage with other projects, partners, agencies and employers across Inverclyde to promote the benefits of volunteer Befriending.
The successful candidate would be expected to attend various community events with our pop-up display and project literature and information to deliver all areas of befriending ‘outreach’ across Inverclyde.
This role will involve engaging with the public and explaining the benefits of befriending to individuals with a view to increasing our volunteer participation.
Please note - the role is part of Scottish Government’s No-One Left Behind (NOLB) provision, local authorities are managing a Long Term Unemployed (LTU) Job Creation Programme, targeted at local residents aged 25 and over, who have been unemployed/unwaged for 12 months or more (there is no requirement to be registered unemployed with the Jobcentre).
