Nominations Closed for 2019

Reach for the StarsEntries and nominations to Reach for the Stars, the Inverclyde Community Awards 2019, are now closed! 

Voluntary Organisation of the Year, sponsored by Inverclyde Life, is open to an organisation in Inverclyde's communities and voluntary sector that demonstrates good citizenship with its work having a positive impact in the local community. Has it reached significant goals or celebrated outstanding achievements? Perhaps it has taken an innovative approach to develop and connect with its community? Up to five candidates will be shortlisted as finalists by judges, who will place them in first to fifth position, accounting for 50% of the vote. Finalists will then go forward to the People's Vote, accounting for the remaining 50% and determining the overall winner, who will be awarded £500 by the Inverclyde Community Fund, along with a crystal trophy and certificate.

Volunteer Impact, sponsored by River Clyde Homes, is looking for an individual volunteer in Inverclyde who has made an outstanding impact within their community, as well as those who have made a difference to the organisation/s with which they are involved. Winners will receive a crystal trophy, with vouchers and a certificate for all finalists.

Volunteer Team Impact, sponsored by Waterfront Cinema Greenock, is looking for a volunteer team in Invercldye who have made an outstanding impact on their community and made a difference to the organisation/s with which they are involved. Winners will receive a crystal trophy, with vouchers and a certificate for all finalists.

Citizenship in Action, sponsored by Inverclyde HSCP, is open to a person or group in Inverclyde who has/have made something happen in their community to improve cohesion, reduce isolation or challenge inequalities. Winners will receive a crystal trophy and certificate.

Environment, Culture and Heritage, sponsored by Inverclyde Council, are all vital to our local communities and local economy. Judges will look at how a community group or voluntary sector organisation operating in Inverclyde has committed to supporting, protecting, developing and advocating the local environment, culture or heritage, helping to create a better place to live, work and play, or more attractive place for visitors. Winners will receive a crystal trophy and certificate.
