Celebrating the People Behind Volunteering for International Volunteer Managers Day

Every day across Inverclyde, volunteers make a valuable contribution to our communities. But behind every positive volunteering experience are the people who make it possible.

This International Volunteer Managers Day, Thursday 5 November, CVS Inverclyde is recognising the people who recruit, support and champion volunteers across our communities.

Established in 1999, International Volunteer Managers Day (IVMDay) is a global celebration of volunteer management, recognising the knowledge, commitment and leadership involved in creating positive volunteering experiences and helping volunteers make a difference.

Legacy and Leadership

This year's theme, Legacy and Leadership: Honouring the Past, Present and Future, celebrates those who have shaped volunteer management, those supporting volunteers today and those who will take this important work forward in the future.

Good volunteer management is about much more than coordinating rotas and organising activities. It involves creating welcoming and inclusive opportunities, building relationships, recognising individual strengths and ensuring volunteers feel valued and supported.

The work of volunteer managers has a lasting impact, not only on individual volunteers but also on the organisations and communities they support.

Recognising Volunteer Managers Across Inverclyde

As Inverclyde's lead agency for volunteering, we see first-hand the commitment of the people who involve and support volunteers across our local third sector.

Through our Volunteer Coordinators Network, we bring together people working with volunteers to share experiences, exchange good practice and explore the opportunities and challenges of volunteer management. The network highlights the value of connecting with others who understand the responsibilities of supporting volunteers and the difference that strong volunteer management can make.

Join Our Volunteer Coordinators Network

If you coordinate or work with volunteers in Inverclyde, we would love you to join us at our next Volunteer Coordinators Network meeting on Thursday 26 November.

It’s an opportunity to connect with others working with volunteers, share knowledge and experiences, and contribute to stronger volunteering practice across Inverclyde.

Email admin@cvsinverclyde.org.uk for more information.

To all the volunteer managers, coordinators and leaders across Inverclyde, thank you for the time, care and commitment you give to supporting volunteers in our communities.
