Putting Rural Volunteering on the Map
About the Project
Designed in response to declining volunteering figures in rural areas, especially amongst young people, we are working to better understand the landscape of rural volunteering and how to involve more people. Part of this research included our Volunteering Survey.
We are also promoting the opportunities available across Inverclyde and raising awareness of the benefits of getting involved. This has involved running one-off volunteering opportunities, designing new promotions with local students, filming a promotional video with Hidden Meaning Productions, offering tailored volunteering support in local hubs and much more!
If you have any questions about this project or how to get involved, please contact us. This project is funded by the Greater Renfrewshire & Inverclyde Local Action Group Rural Community Led Local Development fund.
Why This Project Matters
Rural communities face unique barriers when it comes to volunteering. Fewer local opportunities, transport challenges, and limited awareness can all make it harder for people to get involved.
We aim through this project to support local organisations to further involve volunteers from rural Inverclyde and help by advertising their specific opportunities.
We also want to promote and educate more people about the benefits of volunteering and how they can pursue the right volunteering placement for them.
