From 2020 to 2024, CVS Inverclyde led Inverclyde Cares, a partnership initiative bringing together communities, statutory services and third sector organisations to promote inclusive, compassionate and resilient communities. This work highlighted the strength and reach of the local third sector across every part of community life.

Following a review, it was recognised that thethird sector is embedded across all five of the Inverclyde Alliance Thematic Groups:

•   Children's Services

•   Economy

•   Place

•   Safe and Supported Communities

•   Thriving Communities

In 2025, CVS Inverclyde was commissioned to map local third sector organisations against these themes, helping to demonstrate how the sector contributes to Inverclyde's shared ambition of "Success for All: Getting it Right for Every Child, Citizen and Community."

This mapping exercise was developed in consultation with local organisations and reflects the wide range of support delivered across Inverclyde. Many groups contribute to more than one thematic area, reflecting the sector's breadth and impact.
